The story of
          Pete & Bev.

Beverly Linnea Merideth was born in Boulder, Colorado on October 13, 1924 to Linnea M. A. (Anderson) Merideth and Glen L. Merideth. Beverly was always appreciative of her matriarchal Scandinavian heritage from Stockholm, Sweden. Beverly often during holidays cooked Swedish meals and pastries while singing in and speaking phrases of Swedish. The Anderson family moved to this country during the Gilded Era in the 1880s. Beverly had two sisters—Marjorie the older sister and Shirley the younger sister—for whom she carried fond memories of throughout her life as she also did for Linnea and Glen. When Beverly was a young girl, her family moved to the mile high city of Denver, Colorado where she attended her beginning years of high school and enjoyed the big city lifestyle. Glen, Beverly’s father, accepted a position as manager of the Purina Mill in Idaho when she was an adolescent.

Beverly moved once again with her family to Pocatello, Idaho where she completed her High School Diploma and went to work for the J. C. Penney department store in gift wrapping. It was here in Pocatello she met her future husband Phillip “Pete” E. Hauck and after two years of dating, and another two years writing him a letter every day while he was in Europe during WWII, they were married on April 22, 1945. Their marriage would last seventy-one years until his death in August 2016. Bev and Pete went on to have three children in their family, two girls, Kay who married Keith Boyer and JoAnn who married Gale Kent, and, a boy, Jack married to Holly Hauck. All Bev and Pete’s children’s marriages took place after the family moved to Fresno, California, in 1960 after a brief three-year period in Billings, Montana where Pete worked for the Todd Outdoor Sign Company before taking a position in Fresno with the Federal Sign & Signal Company (now Ad Art Sign Company) as their general manager for three decades.

Beverly’s passion, as she described it, was as a “homemaker” and every detail that entailed, having a deep and abiding love for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren alike, including her nieces and nephews. As a volunteer she counted and recorded the offering for thirty years at Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church in Fresno with people she became close friends with during her lifetime. Her love of music was expressed by playing the piano while she and her family sang along. Beverly completed a Home Interior Decorating Certificate, was a Troop and Den Mother for her young children as Scouts, supported music and baton lessons along with sports activities which were all mainstays around her home. In addition, to numerous innovative family projects, she enthusiastically championed for the betterment of her precious family. Beverly encouraged and fostered an educational climate in her nurturing home. Bev and Pete were regulars at the Fresno Music Club, St. Paul’s Church functions, and Exchange Club events. She wholeheartedly enjoyed trips to the majestic Hawaiian Islands where she would travel to on regular intervals. Another cherished meaningful part of her life was Beverly’s flower garden with grandchildren and great-great grandchildren playing in the midst. Beverly is forever loved, admired and will be tremendously missed. Still and all, she is now at peace. A wonderful, courageous, and honorable life Beverly lived with integrity.
